Biography

Ethel Rosenberg's younger brother; Army machinist at Los Alamos who passed plutonium-bomb sketches to Soviet courier Harry Gold in 1945. Arrested June 15, 1950; turned state's evidence — admitted in a 2001 interview with Sam Roberts that he perjured himself about Ethel typing notes to keep his wife Ruth out of prison. Sentenced to 15 years April 6, 1951; paroled after about 9.5 years; lived under an assumed name until his death.
