Biography
Christopher Columbus Blakey was a conscientious objector from Arkansas imprisoned during World War I. Court-martialed for refusing military service, he was held at Fort Leavenworth. (Documented in the Swarthmore College Peace Collection's World War I Conscientious Objectors database.) Archival note: imprisoned at Ft. Leavenworth Aug. 10, 1918 (or as late as Sept. 9th); Kreger reported on 8/26/1919 that Blakey had participated in recent mutiny, but his conduct was previously good
