Anthony Hayne

Biography

Anthony Hayne was one of five men arrested in 2012 after a Federal Bureau of Investigation undercover operation targeting a plot to bomb the Brecksville-Northfield High Level Bridge, a bridge spanning the Cuyahoga Valley National Park near Cleveland. Prosecutors described the group as self-identified anarchists seeking a political statement against government and corporate power; investigators said the “explosives” were inert because they were supplied through the sting operation.

Hayne pleaded guilty in 2012 and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors, and he was sentenced later that year to six years in federal prison.
