Biography
Allen Kellogg Philbrick was a Harvard student and secretary of the National Students League who was arrested in 1934 aboard the visiting German training cruiser Karlsruhe at the Charlestown Navy Yard while dropping anti-Nazi leaflets in protest of the swastika-flagged goodwill visit. He was taken into custody and interrogated for hours by the Boston police 'red squad.'
