Biography

Alexander H. Macmillan Canadian-born senior Watch Tower official; one of eight defendants indicted May 7, 1918 under the Espionage Act. Convicted June 20, 1918; sentenced to 20 years on each of four counts (concurrent); imprisoned at U.S. Penitentiary Atlanta until released on bail March 1919; convictions reversed on appeal 1919. His 1957 memoir "Faith on the March" is a key first-person account of the case.
