Biography

Abraham Shocker was an IWW member convicted of violating the California criminal syndicalism law on December 9, 1921. He began serving his sentence in San Quentin on December 11, 1921. On August 9, 1923, Shocker was discovered hanging in his cell. Shocker's death took place within a few days of his release from a forty-three-day stay in solitary confinement.
