Biography

Abraham Flaxer was the president of the United Public Workers union, convicted of contempt of Congress for refusing to give the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee the names of his union's roughly 30,000 members. His conviction was sent back for reconsideration after the 1957 Watkins decision (Flaxer v. United States).
