Biography
Aaron Minter, an Occupy Wall Street organizer who frequently went by the alias Aaron Black, was sentenced to 10 days at Rikers Island on September 21, 2012 in connection with an action protesting MTA fare hikes. On April 5, 2012, Minter and a co-defendant, Jeffery Brewer, placed adhesive decals reading "Priority Seating For The 1%" on subway-car seats — a piece of political street-theater that was filmed by a TV news crew. Police identified them from the news segment and arrested them on vandalism charges. Minter pleaded out and served 10 days at Rikers in late September 2012.
