Biography
Maddy Pfeiffer was the longest-held of the PNW Grand Jury Resisters: subpoenaed by a successor federal grand jury after Duran and Olejnik were released, Pfeiffer was sent to the SeaTac Federal Detention Center on February 12, 2013 and held for approximately seven months until release on September 27, 2013. As with the other resisters, the entire detention was coercive civil contempt — Pfeiffer was never charged with or convicted of any crime. The grand jury wound down without returning indictments.
Matthew "Maddy" Pfeiffer was one of the Pacific Northwest grand-jury resisters, jailed in December 2012 for civil contempt after refusing to cooperate with a federal grand jury investigating Seattle May Day protests. Never charged with a crime, Pfeiffer was released in April 2013.
