Biography
William Vroman belonged to the anti-rent community on Blenheim Hill, New York, where tenant farmers resisted the manorial rent system. He was detained during the August 1845 crackdown and held under guard in Gilboa. His recollections of the movement and his imprisonment were recorded by historian Albert Champlin Mayham in 1906.
