Biography

William Pierce is a Portland, Oregon immigrant rights and anti-ICE activist who had been camping outside Portland City Hall for weeks in a protest encampment opposing ICE enforcement policy. In August 2018, during a confrontation outside City Hall, Pierce struck a passerby in the face multiple times with a PVC pipe after an argument broke out between the passerby and other protesters, damaging the victim's vision in his left eye. Pierce pleaded guilty and was sentenced in October 2019 to 36 months in Oregon state prison.
