Biography

Wanda Wareham was a New York 8+ grand-jury resister and the spouse of defendant Roger Wareham. She was confined for refusing to testify in March 1985 and released in June when the grand jury term expired. Contemporary reporting says she was subpoenaed again after release; it does not establish another imprisonment.

Case

Charges: Civil contempt — refusal to testify before the grand jury investigating the New York 8+
Incarcerated: Mar 11, 1985
Released: Jun 18, 1985
Sentence: Civil confinement for refusing grand-jury testimony; released 1985-06-18. This was coercive civil contempt, not a conviction on the New York 8 defendants' criminal charges.
