Biography

W. L. Bennefield, a farmer, a Socialist and a member of the Working Class Union from Oklahoma, was sentenced to ten years in prison. He began his imprisonment in Leavenworth Penitentiary on November 1, 1917. During Bennefield's incarceration his wife and seven children were left destitute.
