Biography
Mrs. Flora Foreman, a Socialist from Oregon, was sentenced to two to five years in prison. She served in the Women's Prison in McAllister, Oklahoma from October 16, 1918, to June 17, 1922. Foreman was a teacher. W^hen her home in Oregon was burned down by "patriotic vigilantes, " she left the state to "visit relatives in Texas, " but was "arrested and held incommunicado" there in the summer of 1918. Convicted under the Espionage Act, she spent two years in the Women's Prison in McAllister, Oklahoma. At the time of her release she was described as a "physical wreck."
