Biography

Vernon Bown was a Lincoln Brigade veteran who guarded the Wade house after a Black family bought a home in a white Louisville neighborhood in 1954. He was charged under Kentucky sedition law and also with the bombing of the house, and was jailed under bail set at $10,000 to $20,000.
