Tyre Means was a Seattle defendant in the May 30, 2020 downtown Seattle protests following the police murder of George Floyd. He pleaded guilty in March 2021 to one count of arson and one count of possession of a stolen firearm, and was sentenced to five years in federal prison. At his sentencing he told the judge: the days of just rolling over to police brutality are over. He served his sentence and was released in August 2025.
Tyre Wayne Means Jr., 25, of Seattle, WA was charged with one count of arson, one count of possession of a stolen firearm, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm. He was caught lighting a police car on fire and tried to grab a rifle from a bag inside the car before fleeing. He had a previous criminal record that prevented him from owning a firearm. Sentenced to 60 months federal prison.
