Biography
Todd Lewis Ashker is a California prison organizer who helped build the movement against indefinite solitary confinement and was a lead plaintiff in Ashker v. Brown. His work included hunger-strike organizing and the cross-racial Agreement to End Hostilities. After the 2015 settlement, he challenged renewed isolation as retaliation for his advocacy. California legislative records summarize a 2023 court finding in his favor on that issue. CDCR listed him at California Men’s Colony on September 10, 2026. The case below concerns retaliation within prison, separately from his underlying criminal sentence.
