Biography

Thomas Quinn was a Pittsburgh organizer for the United Electrical Workers cited for contempt of Congress after refusing, on First and Fifth Amendment grounds, to answer a House Un-American Activities Committee probe of the union in 1949. His conviction was reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court in Quinn v. United States in May 1955.
