Biography
Seamus Moley was an Irish national swept into a series of U.S. investigations targeting alleged IRA-linked arms procurement operations. The underlying allegations reflected a strategic focus on anti-aircraft capability—weaponry intended to threaten British military aircraft—rather than small-arms shipments alone.
Moley was arrested in January 1990 in the same Stinger-missile undercover operation that ensnared McKinley and others. He later entered a plea agreement in March 1995 on arms-smuggling charges and was sentenced to 19 months in federal prison in June 1995. He was released from custody and deported to Ireland in July 1996.
