Sally Jane Rowley was a New York secretary and rode a Greyhound bus from Nashville to Jackson with nine other Freedom Riders and was arrested on July 29, 1961 — one of the arrests recorded by the Mississippi State Sovereignty Commission and preserved in the Civil Rights Digital Library.
