Biography

Ruby Fredericka Shuttlesworth, a daughter of the Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth, was arrested and jailed with her sister and brother in Gadsden, Alabama in 1960 for 'breach of the peace' after they sat in the front of a segregated Greyhound bus. She was convicted of juvenile delinquency and placed on indefinite probation.
