Biography
Reality Winner is a former U.S intelligence contractor who in 2017 leaked a classified intelligence report to the news media outlet The Intercept that detailed Russian interference in the 2016 United States presidential election and provided information about attempts by Russian intelligence to infiltrate U.S. voting systems. Winner was arrested on June 3, 2017, and subsequently charged with leaking classified information under the Espionage Act. In June 2018, Reality Winner pleaded guilty to leaking the classified document as part of a plea agreement. She was sentenced to more than five years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
