Biography

Oglala Lakota co-founder of the Oglala Sioux Civil Rights Organization (OSCRO) and one of the primary organizers of the Wounded Knee occupation in 1973. After surrendering and facing federal charges arising from Wounded Knee, he was shot and killed by BIA tribal police on the Pine Ridge Reservation on October 17, 1973, in circumstances that AIM and his family have always disputed.
