Biography
Paul Rack was a conscientious objector from Michigan imprisoned during World War I. Court-martialed for refusing military service, he was held at Fort Leavenworth. Sentenced to 15 years in prison. (Documented in the Swarthmore College Peace Collection's World War I Conscientious Objectors database.) Archival note: was a member of the Socialist Party; was not a US citizen; registered for the draft on June 7 or 8, 1917 as a CO; interviewed by the Special Bd. on Feb. 14, 1919 at the Disciplinary Barracks for disobedience of orders; sentenced to 15 years in prison
