Biography

Western Pennsylvania farmer and Whiskey Rebellion participant. Mortally wounded by federal-tax-inspector John Neville on July 16, 1794 in the opening confrontation of the Bower Hill siege, the day before James McFarlane was killed at the same site. His death and McFarlane's catalyzed the federal march into western PA.
