Biography
Michael Gomez, of Aurora, Illinois, reported as nineteen at his arrest, was the youngest of the three men federally charged with conspiracy to commit bank theft over the attempt to open an ATM at a First Midwest Bank drive-through in downtown Aurora on the night of May 31, 2020, amid the George Floyd uprising protests. No money was taken. He was arrested on July 1, 2020 with Fermin Ocampo-Tellez and Diego Vargas and made an initial appearance in federal court in Chicago; an early docket entry notes a sealed pretrial status report concerning him.
His disposition is unresolved in the accessible record: no sentencing record, custody span or release has been publicly established, so none is entered. He is not to be confused with any other Michael Gomez; the slug carries the city for that reason.
