Biography

A layperson (age 18) living at the Blair House commune, Bransome was one of the three who destroyed several hundred draft records at the Silver Spring, Maryland Selective Service office on May 21, 1969. He was sentenced to 3 years in federal prison, served about 8 months, and after receiving a death threat from inmates fled to Canada in 1970 and was granted political asylum in Sweden in 1971.
