Biography

Marc Castillo is a Muscatine, Iowa man who on August 9, 2020, during the period of widespread BLM protest activity across Iowa, participated with his brother Gilberto in driving a vehicle toward the Muscatine Public Safety Building. Both men then jumped from the moving vehicle, which struck a flagpole and stairway before coming to rest. Originally charged with state terrorism (up to 50 years). Marc pleaded guilty to lesser charges including assault on a peace officer and second-degree criminal mischief, and was sentenced in April 2021 to 10 years in Iowa state prison.
