Biography
Louise Gilbert was a social worker and member of the Church of the Brethren, active in interracial work, indicted for sedition in Louisville, Kentucky as one of seven white defendants charged for helping the Wade family move into a white neighborhood. Police seized her cookbook and Sunday-school magazines as 'evidence.'
