Biography
Lil Andrews, the Young Communist League district organizer for Ohio, was convicted under Ohio's criminal-syndicalism law for speaking and distributing leaflets at Martins Ferry and sentenced to an indeterminate term. In 1929–30 Belmont County, Ohio prosecuted National Miners' Union and Trade Union Unity League organizers under the state's criminal-syndicalism law for distributing shop papers and speaking at mill and mine gates around Martins Ferry; the convictions carried five-to-ten-year terms and were appealed by the ILD.
