Biography
Leon Blum was secretary of the Laundry Workers Industrial Union in the Bronx, imprisoned at Great Meadow Prison in Comstock, New York around 1934 for his union activity. Snatched back into custody on an old parole after charges against him were dropped, he served roughly a three-year term and reported the denial of labor literature to prisoners. (Not the French politician of the same name.)
