Biography

Oblate priest born in Appleton, Wisconsin, ordained 1963; co-founder of a Catholic Worker house in Milwaukee when he joined the September 24, 1968 Milwaukee 14 raid that burned ~10,000 Selective Service files. Served 14 months in Wisconsin state prison (1969-70). Spent the rest of his life as a missionary among the poor in Brazil, El Salvador, Mexico, and Guatemala. Murdered by armed robbers on a rural highway in northern Guatemala on May 18, 2009.
