Biography
Julius Firestone was inducted into the army in 1917. Because of his strong public stance against the war, Firestone was tarred and feathered by soldiers stationed with him at Camp Hancock, Georgia. He became sick and died on November 25, 1918, of pneumonia while incarcerated at Hancock. Firestone was a member of the Central Committee of the Kings County, New York, Socialist Party.
