Biography
John Wesley Bryant was a St. Petersburg member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee arrested and jailed during the December 29, 1966 City Hall mural protest. His municipal trial resulted in a disorderly-conduct conviction, while a charge of destroying public property was dropped. He was one of four defendants acquitted of grand larceny in May 1967. His detention preceded those verdicts; an exact release date has not been verified.
