Biography

John J. Warner was a tenant farmer in the anti-rent community on Blenheim Hill, New York. During the 1845 crackdown he was confined in the Brimstone church and then taken to Schoharie. His daughter later described his imprisonment and the family's opposition to the rents demanded by the landlords.
