Biography

John Hardy was a SNCC voter-registration worker who, after a registrar struck him on the head with a pistol in Tylertown (Walthall County), Mississippi in 1961, was himself arrested on a breach-of-peace charge. The U.S. Justice Department sued to block his prosecution.
