Biography

James Slovik, secretary of the Marine Transport Workers Industrial Union, Local 200, from Cleveland, Ohio, was convicted at the mass IWW trial in Chicago, sentenced to ten years in prison and fined $30,000. He served in the Cook County Jail and Leavenworth Penitentiary from September 1917 to March 1918 and from September 1918 to August 13, 1923.
