Biography

Hyman Abramowitz was one of the named participants in the 1935 'March of the Cripples' — a sit-in by disabled unemployed activists of the League for the Physically Handicapped at the New York City relief administration, who were carried out on stretchers, clubbed by police, and then arrested and charged with 'assaulting the police.'
