Biography
Henry Silva was one of the eight Modesto maritime workers framed on a dynamite charge after the 1935 tanker strike and imprisoned at San Quentin. The "Modesto Boys" were eight maritime workers framed on a charge of possessing dynamite after the April 1935 tanker strike, when Standard Oil agents and Stanislaus County deputies stopped them on the highway near Modesto, California and — the ILD showed — planted the explosives. They were convicted in July 1935 and sent to San Quentin.
