Biography
Helen John was a founding member of the Greenham Common Women's Peace Camp in 1981 and one of the most prolific UK anti-nuclear activists of her generation. In 1998 she was arrested at SOA Watch protests at the Pentagon and at Fort Benning and sentenced in U.S. federal court to two years — among the longest sentences imposed on a foreign national for SOA-related civil disobedience. She died in 2017.
