Biography

John Patrick Liteky was sentenced to two years in federal prison for SOA Watch protests at the Pentagon and at Fort Benning beginning June 19, 1998 — among the longest SOA Watch sentences. Brother of Charles Liteky, the Vietnam Medal of Honor recipient who renounced his medal in 1986 in opposition to U.S. policy in Central America. Convicted for three blood-pouring direct actions against the U.S. Army School of the Americas (SOA / WHINSEC): the Pentagon on September 29, 1997 and again on October 20, 1997, and Fort Benning, Georgia on February 25, 1998.
