Biography

Hardy Woodward Hunter was a student at Tennessee A&I in Nashville and part of the 1960 lunch-counter sit-in movement. After a white youth yanked him from his stool at a downtown counter, it was Hunter — not his attacker — who was charged with disorderly conduct and fined $100.
