Biography

Fred Shuttlesworth Jr., the young son of the Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth, was hauled off a Greyhound bus and jailed with his sisters in Gadsden, Alabama in 1960 for 'breach of the peace' after the children sat in the front of the segregated bus returning from an integrated youth camp. He was convicted of delinquency and placed on indefinite probation.
