Biography
Frank Hestings was sentenced to four to ten years under Washington State's criminal syndicalism law, the prosecution resting principally on his alleged membership of the Industrial Workers of the World. He served the sentence at the Washington State Penitentiary at Walla Walla.
His sentencing is dated January 22, though the year is qualified in the sources, and an appeal was reported in 1921.
This was a state prosecution. An earlier version of this record classified it as a federal Espionage or Sedition Act case.
