Biography

Everett R. Fisher was a Church of the Brethren conscientious objector from Indiana imprisoned during World War I. Court-martialed for refusing military service, he was held at Fort Leavenworth. (Documented in the Swarthmore College Peace Collection's World War I Conscientious Objectors database.) Archival note: sent to Camp Zachary Taylor, where he acted as mess sergeant; imprisoned at Ft. Leavenworth on July 17, 1918; wrote on Aug. 21, 1918 about himself, L. Blickenstaff & Wm. Goppert being there; part of Group 2 of C.O.s released in Jan. …
