Biography
Eve Tetaz was a retired Washington, D.C. public school teacher who became a prominent peace-and-justice activist, repeatedly committing nonviolent civil resistance against the Iraq War, torture, and the Guantanamo detentions. Arrested some eleven times in 2007 alone and roughly a dozen more times in 2008-2010, she refused to pay fines and served a series of jail sentences — including 7 days (2007), 5 days (2008), 25 days (2010), and 60 days in the D.C. Jail after a 2012 banner protest at the U.S. Supreme Court. She was active with Code Pink, the National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance, and Witness Against Torture.
