Biography
Emmett Calvin Brown was convicted of contempt for declining to answer the questions of the Ohio Un-American Activities Commission. He was one of the appellants in the case that reached the U.S. Supreme Court as Raley v. Ohio, which turned on the commission's failure to honor the witnesses' invocation of their rights.
