Biography

Adams, MA Revolutionary War veteran and Shays' Rebellion co-commander; led the northern Berkshire contingent in the January 1787 attempt on the Springfield Armory. After the militia broke the rebels, Parsons fled to Vermont. Sentenced to death in absentia for treason; later pardoned.
