Biography

Job Shattuck was a Revolutionary War veteran and one of the principal leaders of Shays’ Rebellion in eastern Massachusetts. On November 30, 1786 a mounted posse ran him down and captured him, wounding him with a sword slash in the process, and he was thrown into a Boston jail. Tried and sentenced to death for treason in 1787, he was pardoned that September.
