Biography
Eicker was the secretary of the rank-and-file committee of the Bonus Marchers — the some 20,000 World War veterans who camped in Washington in the summer of 1932 to demand early payment of their service bonus — arrested while picketing President Hoover and the White House, and freed after two days under mass pressure. The camps were burned out by the Army under MacArthur on 28 July 1932.
